I grew up in Togo, West Africa, where braiding isn't something you learn from a tutorial — it's something you inherit. Doorsteps and courtyards, mothers and daughters, aunties and nieces. Hands teaching hands.
After fourteen years I opened Jemoel Lux Braids to give the Twin Cities what I always wished for on this side of the ocean — true African technique, unhurried care, and a room made calm on purpose.
